Fertility Treatments
A less invasive, first-line fertility treatment optimizing the timing and placement of sperm to increase conception chances.
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), often called artificial insemination, is a fertility treatment that involves placing sperm inside a woman's uterus to facilitate fertilization. The goal is to increase the number of sperm that reach the fallopian tubes and subsequently increase the chance of fertilization.
Dr. Santosh Gupta often recommends IUI as a starting point for:
The Process
We monitor your cycle closely using ultrasound to predict ovulation. Mild medication may be used to stimulate egg growth.
The sperm sample is "washed" in our lab to separate high-quality, motile sperm from other seminal fluids.
The washed sperm is inserted directly into the uterus using a thin catheter. It is a quick, nearly painless procedure.
IUI involves no surgery and causes minimal discomfort, similar to a pap smear.
IUI is significantly more affordable than IVF and is often the first step in fertility treatment.
The insemination takes only a few minutes, and you can resume normal activities almost immediately.
Schedule a consultation with Dr. Santosh Gupta to discuss your fertility history and determine if IUI is the best first step for you.
