A highly specialized technique for overcoming severe male infertility and previous IVF failures.

What is ICSI?

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is a specialized form of IVF designed to help couples with male factor infertility. Unlike standard IVF, where sperm and eggs are mixed in a dish, ICSI involves the precision injection of a single healthy sperm directly into the center of a mature egg.

Dr. Santosh Gupta recommends ICSI for cases involving:

  • Low Sperm Count (Oligospermia)
  • Poor Sperm Motility (Asthenospermia)
  • Abnormal Sperm Shape (Teratospermia)
  • Previous Failed Fertilization in IVF

The Technology

How ICSI Works

1

Ovarian Stimulation

Similar to IVF, the female partner undergoes stimulation to produce multiple eggs, which are then retrieved.

2

Sperm Selection

Our embryologists use high-magnification microscopes to select the single healthiest, most motile sperm.

3

Precision Injection

Using a micromanipulator, the selected sperm is gently injected directly into the cytoplasm of the egg to ensure fertilization.

Advantages of ICSI

Solves Male Infertility

Even if sperm count is extremely low, ICSI requires only one healthy sperm per egg to achieve fertilization.

Higher Fertilization Rates

By bypassing the egg's outer shell, ICSI significantly improves fertilization rates compared to conventional IVF.

Compatible with PGT-A

ICSI creates embryos that are suitable for genetic testing (PGT-A) to screen for chromosomal abnormalities.
